This Privacy Policy explains how Second Talent (“Second Talent,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards your information when you use the Second Talent platform at mango.secondtalent.com and any related services (collectively, the “Service”). The Service connects employers with pre‑vetted engineering talent. Please read this policy carefully. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Who we are

Second Talent operates a two‑sided marketplace where candidates create professional profiles and employers discover, save, and request introductions to talent. Depending on how you interact with the Service, you may be a “Candidate,” an “Employer,” or a visitor. This policy applies to all of them.

2. Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Account information.When you sign up — including via third‑party sign‑in such as Google OAuth — we receive your name, email address, and profile image, and we create an account record for you.
  • Candidate profile data. Information you choose to provide, such as your role, seniority, skills and tech stack, years of experience, availability, location/country, languages, links, and any biography or supporting materials you add.
  • Employer / company data. Company name, contact details, hiring requirements, saved candidates, and introduction or interview requests you submit.
  • Communications. Messages, introduction requests, interview notes, and any correspondence you send through or to the Service, including support emails.
  • Usage and device data. Log data such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps, collected automatically when you use the Service, along with essential cookies and similar technologies used to keep you signed in and to secure the Service.

3. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Service and your account;
  • Match candidates with relevant employers and facilitate introductions, interviews, and hiring;
  • Vet and verify candidate profiles and maintain the quality of the talent network;
  • Send transactional notifications (for example, when an employer requests an introduction) and respond to your enquiries;
  • Monitor, secure, debug, and improve the Service and develop new features;
  • Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, security incidents, and violations of our Terms of Service; and
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.

4. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:

  • Between marketplace participants. Candidate profiles are made available to verified employers on the platform so they can evaluate and request introductions. Employer requests are shared with the relevant candidate and our team.
  • Service providers.We use trusted third parties to run the Service, including cloud hosting and database providers (e.g. Supabase and Vercel), authentication providers (e.g. Google), and email delivery providers (e.g. Resend). They process data only on our instructions.
  • Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Second Talent, our users, or the public.
  • Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

5. Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, and thereafter for as long as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer required, we delete or anonymize it.

6. Security

We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including access controls and row‑level security on our databases. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your rights and choices

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, update, port, or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. You can update much of your profile information directly within the Service, or contact us using the details below to exercise these rights. You may also unsubscribe from non‑essential emails at any time.

8. International transfers

Second Talent operates internationally, and your information may be processed in countries other than your own, which may have different data protection laws. Where required, we take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers.

9. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies and similar technologies to authenticate users, keep you signed in, remember preferences (such as your light/dark theme), and secure the Service. We do not use these technologies for third‑party advertising.

10. Children’s privacy

The Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
